Discover the untouched nature in the West and mystical power places in the East – away from the crowds.
Day 1: Beach Hotel – Tanah Lot – Traditional Market in Tabanan – Jatiluwih – Marga
After pick-up from your beach hotel, the tour begins heading west. First, we visit the famous rock temple Tanah Lot. Then the journey continues to Tabanan, the "granary" of Bali, where we visit a traditional market. For our lunch break, we stop at a beautifully situated restaurant with a magnificent view of the rice terraces.
After lunch, you will drive along a small country road past the dreamlike rice terraces of Jatiluwih. We then visit these impressive, oldest rice terraces in Bali, which cascade down in endless steps towards the sea.
Overnight: Villa Taman di Blayu (or equivalent hotel) | Meals: B (Breakfast)
Day 2: Marga – Bedugul – Munduk – Banjar – Lovina
After breakfast, you will first drive uphill towards Bedugul and visit the vegetable market in a mountain village. Afterwards, you will visit the idyllic water temple Pura Ulun Danu Beratan, which is located directly on Lake Beratan. The journey continues up to the Pancasari mountain pass. Here a double highlight awaits you: the enchanting panorama of the twin lakes Tamblingan and Buyan, as well as an encounter with our animal relatives, the macaques. Past the mountain village of Munduk, the journey continues to the legendary north coast of Bali. First you will visit "Air Panas Banjar", a hot, holy sulfur spring with bathing facilities, which is said to have healing properties. After this refreshing experience, you will visit the Brahma Vihara Arama, a Buddhist monastery and meditation center.
Overnight: Hotel New Sunari Lovina (or equivalent hotel) | Meals: B
Day 3: Sunrise Boat Trip – Sangsit – Kintamani – Ubud
Early in the morning at 6:00 AM, you will set off in traditional fishing boats for a trip into the sunrise - with a little luck you might spot dolphins (weather dependent). Following breakfast at the hotel, the journey continues to the village of Sangsit, where you will visit the Pura Beji temple from the 15th century, known for its ornately decorated sculptures. The route then leads to Kintamani on the caldera of the Batur crater, from where you have a breathtaking view of Lake Batur. During the lunch break, you can enjoy the fantastic view of the huge crater basin from which the Mount Batur volcano rises. After lunch, we continue to Tegallalang, where some of the most beautiful rice terraces in Bali await you.
Overnight: Sahadewa Resort & Spa Ubud (or equivalent hotel) | Meals: B
Day 4: Ubud and Surroundings
After breakfast at the hotel, you will visit a traditional Balinese residential house in the village of Singapadu, giving you an authentic insight into the everyday life of the locals. Then it's on to Batubulan, where the traditional Barong dance is performed. In the artist village of Batuan, a visit to a village temple is on the program.
In the afternoon, a visit to the "Goa Gajah" elephant cave is planned. You will then visit the "Puri Saren" royal palace in Ubud, which gives you an insight into the current life of the royal caste.
Overnight: Sahadewa Resort & Spa Ubud (or equivalent hotel) | Meals: B
Day 5: Ubud – Klungkung – Besakih – Tirta Gangga – Amlapura – Candi Dasa
After breakfast, you will drive to Klungkung, the former seat of the most important ruling house of Bali. Here you will visit the historic Kerta Gosa court hall, built in the 17th century, where judges of a past era announced their verdicts. The next stop is the mother temple Pura Besakih at the foot of the 3,142-meter-high Mount Agung, the residence of the Hindu gods.
You will spend your lunch break in a beautifully situated restaurant with a magnificent view of the surrounding rice terraces. A drive through a picturesque landscape will take you to the "Tirta Gangga" water palace, built in 1948 as a retreat for the Prince of Karangasem.
Overnight: Ramayana Candidasa Dive & Resort (or equivalent hotel) | Meals: B
Day 6: Candi Dasa – Tenganan – Goa Lawah – Beach Hotel
The tour begins after breakfast with a visit to the village of Tenganan, where the "Bali Aga" - the original Balinese - live. Tenganan is world-famous for its traditional double ikat weaving technique used to produce sacred cloths ("Kamben Geringsing"). You will then drive to the fishing village of Kusamba, where the outrigger boats with their colorful sails stand out vividly against the black lava beach. An important source of income on this coast is traditional salt production, which you can observe in the small thatched huts along the road.
Nearby is the "Goa Lawah" bat cave, where thousands of bats hang from the walls. Afterwards, you will be transferred back to your beach hotel. Meals: B
